MSGI Corporation Selected to Provide Training to Marine Corps Medics in Support of the TMIP-M USMC

June 3rd, 2005—MSGI Corporation, an 8(a) Small Disadvantage Business (SDB), veteran and minority owned company headquartered in Tampa, was selected to provide training and system administrator support to the Theater Medical Information Program Maritime U.S. Marine Corps Component (TMIP-M USMC), Quantico, VA. On February 2005, the Marine Corps medical leadership validated the urgent need for the rapid deployment of TMIP capability in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. TMIP-M Program’s mission is to develop, field and support a medical information management system for medical forces in combat or hostile environments. In response to this need, a state-of-the-art software known as “TMIP-Lite” will be outfitted to Marine units deploying to Iraq in the summer of 2005. The focus of TMIP-Lite is to capture patient data at the initial point of injury/care, move it through successive echelons of medical care if patient is evacuated; thus enhancing medical situation awareness for operational commanders. According to Lieutenant William Todd Jacobs, a Marine Corps Systems Command Information Systems and Infrastructure Assistant Project Officer, “TMIP Lite is a program that we strongly believe will help Marines and sailors in Iraq to receive better and more responsive medical treatment.” Furthermore, “commands will have improved ability to track, maintain visibility on, and contact with their medically evacuated personnel. Of course, this will only be possible if medical personnel in theater are properly trained to use the issued equipment. The Marine Corps sought out MSGI in order to provide our medical personnel with the best training and support available in order to make the system work,” said Lieutenant Jacobs.
The estimated value of this small business set-aside 8 (a) contract is a minimum of $554,432.94 during a one year period. Since the year 2000, MSGI Corporation supports a similar pioneering project with the U.S. Army, known as Military Communication for Combat Casualty Care (MC4), fielding missions in locations such as Germany, Korea, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq, and military bases throughout the U.S.
MSGI Corporation will provide fielding and training to Marine units such as Battalion Aids Stations, Regimental Aid Stations, Medical Battalions, and Marine Wing Support Squadrons in Iraq. “Our experienced employees are uniquely suited to support TMIP-Lite with the highest quality and performance possible. We are proud and eager to provide deployment, training, and systems administration support to the Marines Corps,” said Angel E. (Hank) Cintron, President and CEO of MSGI Corporation.
